Design
W.A.V.E Technology™: Wavefront Advanced Vision Enhancement enables Essilor scientists to identify distortions that other manufacturers miss, and having identified them, they can effectively eliminate them.
Varilux Physio Enhanced™ is a brand new lens design created using W.A.V.E. Technology 2, which customizes wavefront correction to the specific needs of the individual patient.
Customized wavefront correction for optimal performance.
As the pupil of the eye expands, vision becomes less sharp. Unless a lens design is specifically adjusted to compensate for this, it cannot provide the maximum quality of sharpness to patients.
The design of Varilux Physio Enhanced lenses optimizes vision for all pupil sizes from 2 to 8 mm in diameter.
No matter which point a patient gazes through in a Varilux Physio Enhanced lens, that point has been optimized to the maximum pupil size necessary to experience the sharpest vision.
Superior Aberration Control
A multi-design approach to management of high-order aberrations enables customization of the Varilux Physio Enhanced lens design to each patients specific needs.
The multi-design approach was applied in the 1990s to low-order aberrations (e.g. cylinder), resulting in the breakthrough Varilux lens designs of that generation. W.A.V.E. Technology 2 applies this same concept to the management of high-order aberrations like coma, trefoil and spherical aberration.
By managing these aberrations in a customized manner for every patient, Varilux Physio Enhanced is able to provide every patient with the sharpest vision possible at every distance and in every light even at night.
